The first two are not surprising. But pockets?

“Women want something that feels good, but it has to be very functional,” says Caroline Basarab-Dennison, Director of Retail for Reynolds Lake Oconee. “Having pockets is very important when it comes to ladies’ bottoms, for all pants, skirts, crops, or shorts. They have to be functional, with a good fit.”

This year, shelves in the six Reynolds golf shops will be stocked with apparel that is more colorful than ever. Mostly light blues, greens, bright yellows, and reds. Bold, yet tasteful. Leading brands include Jofit, Nivo, and EP Pro—popular women-only lines—as well as Cutter & Buck, Peter Millar, and Greg Norman.

Basarab-Dennison, who is both a fashion expert and certified PGA Professional, notes that moisture-wicking products continue to outsellthe competition, regardless of brand, with their growing popularity due to their comfort and easy care.

“As a buyer, it is an advantage being a golf professional,”Basarab-Dennison says. “I have a better understanding of what the ladies need to play golf and also be fashionable, with the new colors, fabrics, prints… and fun belts.”

Basarab-Dennison notes that women golfers throughout the Reynolds Lake Oconee community prefer lightweight fabrics that are fast-drying, since Georgia has its share of warm weather. She is introducing more items and fabrics with sun protection, like the Icikuls Sun Shirt line, whichboasts a UPF 50 rating.

“Our goal is to truly take care of our women golfers,” Basarab-Dennison explains. “We want to provide them with great service, great products, and understand what the women at Reynolds would like to see in the shops. Ultimately, it’s their club.”
