Reynolds Lake Oconee is one of a growing number of golf destinations implementing alternative ways to attract new golfers, retain current golfers, and, most of all, entertain all golfers.  “The three-letter word the industry desperately needs to add is ‘fun,’” says The Plantation Course architect Bob Cupp, who served as a consultant during the recent renovation of his 1988 design.

Cupp strongly supports a new experience offered at The Plantation Course that was developed as part of the renovation that debuted this spring. It’s called the Quick 6 loop, made up of the first three holes and the last three holes on the front nine, each played from a special tee area only a short distance from the green.  New tee boxes have been added to four of the holes so that each plays as a par 3.

“With no hole playing more than 134 yards, it’s pretty simple for everyone to get a taste of golf on The Plantation Course,” said Mark Lammi, the community’s vice president of golf.  “And you can play the Quick 6 loop in about an hour.”

The Quick 6 routing is available three days a week: Tuesday from 2-3:50 p.m. and again from 6-7 p.m.; Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.  A series of special Quick 6 junior events, family outings, and couples events will be offered.  “It’s the kind of place where kids and adults can share the love of the game with family members and couples can play a few holes just before the sun sets,” Lammi said, “just for fun.”
