Don Weir

Sales Executive

Don's wife, Sarah, was a stage and television actress.

Don Weir understands the vision.

A life as an executive vice president and partner in two of the world’s largest advertising agencies led Don Weir around the world. Living in 14 different cities — including Rome for three years — was an enjoyable career for the culture and food enthusiast (Don particularly favors Italian wines, with Brunello and Barolo being among his favorites). However, at age 48, he was looking to retire and settle into a more relaxed pace.

Though initially skeptical of Reynolds — in 1994, Linger Longer Road was a dirt road and Publix was a pipe dream — Don became sold on the vision of the community and bought a lake lot on his second day there. A year later he also bought a contiguous lake lot and began to build his dream home — now occupied by a certain star NFL quarterback — and he has made Reynolds his home since.

Don is positive you can’t play golf five days a week for 12 years, because he’s tried. Ten years ago, he joined the Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties team and has since sold almost $75 million in property. What he enjoys most about being in real estate is that he has the best “office” in the world — one day it’s the golf course, the next showing property by boat, and all frequently capped by dining at one of Reynolds’ award-winning restaurants.

Outside of work, Don is an expert skier and has heli-skiied over 2 million vertical feet, mainly in the Canadian Rockies. He’s also a fan of country music and counts himself as an early Zac Brown Band fan, having personally known Zac when he was playing acoustic shows at his restaurant, Zac’s Place, on Lake Oconee.
