Scott Hoersten

Whether driving on an idyllic road in Reynolds Lake Oconee, viewing a new homesite, or playing one of seven championship golf courses, you’re witnessing the handiwork of Scott Hoersten.

A landscape architect by training, Scott began his career at Reynolds in 1985, after being hired away from Hilton Head Island to assist in the initial land planning for the Reynolds Lake Oconee. Rising quickly into the role of Vice President of Planning and Development. Scott helped grow the Reynolds property from an initial 3,000 acres to its current size of 14,000 acres. Under his leadership, his team created the infrastructure Reynolds’ seven courses, all of the neighborhoods, clubhouses, amenity facilities, trails, parks, and utility systems supporting the community. He also oversaw the initial planning and development of Lake Oconee Village, as well as Lake Oconee Academy. Many of what Members and guests see today in Reynolds, Scott carved his way through the trees to get to first, and most of the streets, homesites, and common areas at Reynolds owe their very existence to Scott’s expertise and foresight. After “retiring” to the real estate office in 2011, that same vision and expertise has been enjoyed by hundreds of customers who Scott has helped to find and design the perfect fit for them also.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys finding any excuse he can to be on the lake. Some of his favorite activities are cruising on the lake with his wife, Anne, and taking along the Hoersten Team including daughters Kelly and Kate, Sons-in-law Donny, and Jason, and grandchildren Danny, Sam, Donny and Dallas! For Scott, or for anyone when you think about it, seeing the little ones dancing on the boat with their mother or grandmother, watching the sunset, and sometimes listening to the Braves on the radio makes for the perfect ending to a typical day at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
