Delicious Weekend Ahead at The Lake Oconee Food & Wine Festival

If you love tasty foods, nice wines, and mingling with interesting people, prepare yourself for one of the best events in small-town Georgia. Coming this March 18th-19th, at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Lake Oconee, is the annual Lake Oconee Food and Wine Festival. The weekend will feature culinary treats, fine wines, a launch party and cook-off, with celebrity chefs and an auction to benefit local children's charities. Set in beautiful Greensboro, Georgia's best small town to retire in, this is one of the year's premier events at Reynold's Lake Oconee.

The 7th Annual Lake Oconee Food & Wine Festival will bring together culinary specialties from The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Lake Oconee and regional restaurants, pairing them with more than 150 premium wines. Guests of the festival can expect:

The Vintner Dinner  - 6:30 cocktails 7:00 dinner March 18th | Linger Longer Steakhouse

A Sponsors Only 5-course meal prepared by Lake Oconee's executive chef, and paired with a selection of wines from Justin Winery, the festival's 2016 featured winemaker.

The Launch Party - 8:00 - 11:00 Friday March 18th | The Grand Ballroom

Dance the night away with the Ronnie Pittman Band and delight in lite-fare and drinks from Bulleit Bourbon, Sherwin Family Wines, and Gruet Champagne. Interior Design by Shane Meder of Black Sheep Interiors.

The Brew & Que Cook-Off - 12:00 - 2:00 Saturday, March 19th | Ritz-Carlton Forrest

Enjoy a lakeside lunch of champion ribs, and pork and stew. Wash it all down with ice cold beer from Terrapin Beer Co. Stay a while and enjoy music from rising country star Matt Rogers.

The Grand Tasting - 6:00 - 9:00 Saturday, March 19th | Ritz-Carton Reynolds, Lake Oconee

This main event of the weekend features cuisine from regional chefs and more than 100 wines poured for your sampling. Throughout the evening various silent auction items will be up for bid. The auction will include trips to unique destinations, gourmet dinners, sporting packages and much more. All attendees will receive a souvenir Lake Oconee Food & Wine glass with their ticket. There will be music and an appearance from Thomas Arvid, America's premier wine painter whose works pepper the finest galleries and wineries throughout the USA.

Also featuring a painting session by Thomas Arvid, the festival promises to be a weekend of fun, culture, delicious foods and wines, and plenty of interesting people to meet at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
